Tian Mo is a science fiction author about whom little public information is available; the only confirmed work is the novel Eye of Madness (Kuangqi zhi Tong). Judging from the title and its classification as science fiction, the writing tends toward striking imagery and unconventional states of mind, using a science fiction framework to explore the boundaries of perception, consciousness, or human nature. Because details such as biography, nationality, dates of birth and death, and an English name are unknown, it is not possible to trace the author's career or to judge where this work stands within it. Tian Mo therefore appears as an author known to readers through a single work, whose significance lies mainly in the thematic choices and narrative atmosphere of Eye of Madness. Readers interested in the author and the book should rely on the actual content of the novel rather than over-interpreting the limited available material.
