夏清影

Xia Qingying is an author about whom little public information is available. Two of the author's works are held in the collection, namely The Peach Blossom Fan and Reminiscences of Tao'an, commonly classified under classical literature and prose miscellany. Judging from these works, the writing is closely tied to the classical literary tradition, touching on subjects such as dramatic texts and Ming and Qing note-style prose, with an emphasis on organizing, interpreting, and discussing older documents in an essayistic manner. Because no clear records exist regarding birth and death dates, nationality, education, or personal experience, biographical details are difficult to trace, and readers' understanding of the author must rely mainly on these two works themselves. On the available evidence, Xia Qingying's writing shows sustained attention to classical texts and tends toward the tone of prose miscellany, offering some reference value for the reading and transmission of classical literature.
