About the author

Xia Chuancai: public information is limited, and no clear record has been found of his dates of birth and death, nationality, or educational background. Judging from the four works held in the library, he has long devoted himself to popularizing and teaching fine traditional Chinese culture. He is the author of Lectures on the Thirteen Classics, Lectures on the Book of Songs, Lectures on Mencius, and Lectures on the Analects, all belonging to the "Lectures by Distinguished Scholars on Fine Traditional Chinese Culture" series. Grounded in classical texts, these works explain the essentials of the classics and pre-Qin thought to general readers, concentrating on culture and traditional scholarship; they are commonly classified under culture and Eastern philosophy. His writing favors the clarity and readability of the lecture format and seeks to turn abstruse classical scholarship into lucid exposition, making it accessible to beginners. His work has had a certain influence on the dissemination of knowledge about traditional culture.
