国枝史郎

Kunieda Shiro is a Japanese author about whom little is known: neither his nationality nor his dates of birth and death are clearly recorded, and the available public information is limited, making it difficult to outline a complete life story. Judging from the seven works held in the collection, his writing spans foreign literature, martial arts fiction, and mystery and detective stories, and his subjects often carry a legendary and uncanny flavor. Representative works include The Brocade Castle of Shenzhou, Blood Smoke at Tenmei, The Mysterious Insect House, The Blood-Stained Sword, Master Hell, The Demon God of Mount Yatsugatake, and The Ancient Desert Capital; their titles suggest a strong atmosphere of the martial world and mystery, showing that he excelled at building tense plots between history and fantasy. For Chinese readers, he remains a foreign popular-literature author awaiting further translation and recognition, and his style leans toward adventure narratives with twisting plots and vivid imagery.
