周海燕

Zhou Haiyan is a Chinese author with a remarkably broad range of subjects; thirteen of her works are included in the library. Her writing spans cultural observation, popular science, social studies and law. She has translated and described Japanese society, including a book on white-collar workers and their families in Tokyo's suburbs, and has written popular science on forest ecology and the interconnections within the natural world. In social studies and law, she has addressed oral histories of agricultural mechanization in China, ancient Chinese legal culture, and practical strategies for real estate cases. Her books are aimed at general readers and focus on turning specialized knowledge into readable narrative, reflecting a sustained interest in everyday life and social reality. Because public information is limited, details of her personal background remain unknown, and readers chiefly come to know her through these works.
