Zhou Xiaotian

Zhou Xiaotian, styled Xintuo, was born in May 1948 in Quxian, Sichuan. He is a professor at the College of Literature and Journalism, Sichuan University, and a former vice president of the Chinese Poetry Society. He has long been engaged in the study of classical Chinese literature and poetry. His works include A History of Jueju Poetry, A History of Chinese Literature by Genre (Poetry Volume), Ten Days of Poetry Composition, and Zhou Xiaotian on the Art of Poetry, and he served as chief editor of the Dictionary of Appreciation of the Classic of Poetry and the Songs of Chu and the Dictionary of Appreciation of Tang Poetry. In 2014, he won the Poetry Prize of the 6th Lu Xun Literary Award for his collection of old-style poems, Will Drink Tea: Selected Poems of Zhou Xiaotian. His works span classic works, prose and miscellaneous writings, and modern poetry, reflecting both solid scholarship and continuing exploration of the contemporary writing of old-style poetry.
