Wu Gang

Wu Gang, born in 1970 in China, is a professor at the Graduate Institute of Interpretation and Translation at Shanghai International Studies University and president of the Shanghai Translators Association. He has long been engaged in the translation and teaching of English and American literature, and has published more than forty translated works totaling over five million characters. His notable translations include The Hobbit: An Illustrated Edition, The Lord of the Rings trilogy, The Legend of Middle-earth (seven-volume set), The Hobbit (film tie-in edition), The Beautiful and Damned, Salome, and Wartime Lights. Thirteen of his works are carried in this catalog, spanning foreign literature, fantasy, applied psychology and software learning. His translations balance literary quality with fluent Chinese, making works by Tolkien and other authors more accessible to Chinese readers. Public information on his early life and awards is limited.
