吕抚

Lü Fu is an author in the field of classical Chinese historical novels. Public information about his life, birthplace, dates of birth and death, and nationality is limited and difficult to verify. Four of his works are held in the collection, with Representative works including The Romance of Dynastic Rise and Fall and The Complete History of China in Romance. His writing takes the rise and fall of Chinese dynasties as its main thread, presenting historical events in the accessible style of the historical romance and drawing on conventions common to classical literature and history reading, so that readers can follow the narrative and grasp the outline of history. Such works usually emphasize coherent storytelling and readability, arranging complex historical material into easily digestible chapter-by-chapter accounts, and thus play a role in popularizing historical knowledge. They are best read as popular historical romances rather than rigorous historical scholarship, and details should still be checked against formal histories.
