Public information about Tong Sheng is limited: the available records show only one work under this name, the representative title Shui Shuo, commonly classified as a social novel. There is no verifiable public information about whether the name carries another meaning, or about the author's personal background and writing context, so this entry makes no speculation on such points. Based on the existing material, Tong Sheng's writing profile emerges mainly through Shui Shuo. Classified as a social novel, the work uses a plain, colloquial title to point toward a particular group and situation in real life, suggesting that it may address social topics such as education credentials, job seeking, or identity, and present individuals' circumstances and choices within social structures through narrative. Because only this one work is held in the collection, it is difficult to assess the author's overall style and thematic direction, or to discuss output, publication history, or reader response. Readers seeking to understand Tong Sheng through this entry may begin with the connection to Shui Shuo and its social-novel classification, then turn to the work itself for a more concrete judgment.
