Ye Zi is an author about whom very little public information is available; what can be confirmed is only the six works under her name and their general subject areas. The Western Daily Life Observation Notes series shows an interest in everyday life abroad and cross-cultural observation, written in an essay-like, record-keeping style. Xiang Si Gu Ren Lai, My Paranoid Boyfriend, and the collected popular sweet romance novels point to sustained writing in modern romance and light-hearted sweet romance. The mystery in Everyday Beginnings places detective reasoning within the details of ordinary life, while The Philosophy of Happiness resembles inspirational growth writing and carries a reflective tone aimed at general readers. Her works also touch on travel and war and military categories, showing a fairly wide range, yet overall she tends to start from everyday experience and unfold stories and observations in an accessible, readable manner. Since information such as education and personal history cannot be verified, no speculation is offered here.
