Liu Yumin

Liu Yumin, born in February 1951 in Rongcheng, Shandong, is a contemporary Chinese writer. He is a member of the China Writers Association and the China Calligraphers Association, holds the rank of first-class literary creator, and has served as vice chairman of the Shandong Provincial Federation of Literary and Art Circles and chairman of the Jinan Writers Association. He is known chiefly for his novels, including Sì Dòng Zhī Qiū (The Restless Autumn), Yangjiao Hao and Guo Long Bing; The Restless Autumn won the fourth Mao Dun Literature Prize. His fiction engages closely with real life and social change in a solid, grounded style. The collection also includes several of his popular legal works on the rights of minors, women and children, the elderly and consumers, and on marriage, family and inheritance, which explain legal knowledge to general readers and reveal another side of his writing beyond fiction.
