About the author

Liu Jiang (1926–2024), originally named Fo'an, was a native of Wanxian, Sichuan. He was a professor at the China Academy of Art, honorary president of the Xiling Seal Art Society, and a renowned calligrapher, seal carver and educator, as well as one of the founders of higher calligraphy education in China. He authored more than ten monographs, including A History of Chinese Seal Art, Seal Carving Techniques and The Aesthetics of Seal Carving, and received the Lanting Award for Lifetime Achievement. The library holds five of his works, spanning computer science, medicine and artificial intelligence: an experimental course on software-defined networking, principles, technologies and applications of named data networking, a computer network laboratory course, the first volume of an English course on traditional Chinese medicine culture, and AI-assisted case handling. These titles show his editorial interests extending to information technology and the communication of traditional Chinese medicine culture; public information on his specific life details and the background of each book is limited.
