Liu Xing, born in 1958, is a professor and doctoral supervisor at the School of Law, China University of Political Science and Law, and previously taught at Sun Yat-sen University Law School. He has long studied jurisprudence, legal history and the judicial system. His writing combines scholarship with readability: he offers a critical reading of twentieth-century Anglo-American jurisprudence, presents Chinese legal thought through stories and ideas, and explores legal practice through metaphor and historical cases.
