刘敬圻

Liu Jingqi is a Chinese author known for his research on classical literature and literary appreciation. Public information about him is limited, and a complete account of his life has not been made available. Judging from the eleven works included in the collection, his writings center on Song dynasty ci poetry and Ming-Qing fiction: they include A History of Southern Song Ci, a general survey of the ci style of that era, and Supplementary Studies on Ming-Qing Fiction (Revised Edition), a collection of focused examinations of Ming-Qing novels. He has also taken part in compiling the works of the late Qing writer Wu Jianren, including The Strange Case of the Eyewitness and collections of his social, romantic, and historical fiction. These works show a approach that combines literary history with close reading of texts, highlighting the features of classical narrative and lyrical traditions through specific works. His writing serves literary appreciation and classical literary education and is suitable for readers interested in Song ci poetry, Ming-Qing fiction, and modern fiction.
