刘北成

Liu Beicheng is a Chinese book author about whom limited public information is available; his dates of birth and death, nationality, and educational background are not clearly recorded. Judging from the 11 works included in the database, his writing and editorial work focus on world history and the history of Western thought. His representative works include the revised seventh edition of A Global History: From Prehistory to the 21st Century in upper and lower volumes and in a two-volume set, as well as The Enlightenment: The Rise of Modern Pagan Rationalism? — more accurately, The Enlightenment: The Awakening of Man and the Birth of the Modern Order — and The Lineages of the Absolutist State and Perry Anderson's trilogy on European history. Most of these are historical works that have been introduced or compiled, spanning world history, Western philosophy, and social culture. Combining a broad historical perspective with thematic depth, they offer Chinese readers a fairly systematic introduction to global historical developments and European intellectual trends, and have exerted a certain influence in relevant reading circles.
