About the author

Liu Baoyan is an author of medical books; limited public information is available about him, and four of his works are currently included in the collection. Judging from the subjects of these works, his writing focuses on two main areas: the discipline of acupuncture and moxibustion, and acupuncture legislation and policy. On the one hand, he edited Illustrated Acupuncture and Moxibustion of Traditional Chinese Medicine (in Chinese, English, French, Russian, Spanish, and Arabic) and the Report on the Development of the Acupuncture Discipline (2013–2020), organizing acupuncture knowledge and disciplinary progress. On the other hand, he compiled A Comprehensive Survey of Global Acupuncture Policies and Legislation and A Compilation of Acupuncture Legislation in the Western United States (Chinese-English bilingual), systematically gathering acupuncture policies and regulations from various countries and regions. His edited works combine the nature of reference books and documentary compilations, serving readers in clinical practice, teaching, and policy research, with an emphasis on information integration and multilingual presentation that aids the dissemination of acupuncture knowledge and comparative study of professional institutions.
