冯春

Feng Chun: public information about this author is limited, and details such as nationality, dates of birth and death, and educational background are not clearly recorded. Nevertheless, the twelve works held in the collection sketch the basic profile of a translator and editor whose work centers clearly on Russian literature, especially Pushkin and Turgenev. These include the twelve-volume Collected Works of Pushkin, the two volumes of The Complete Lyric Poems of Pushkin, and the verse novel Eugene Onegin, as well as Turgenev's A Sportsman's Sketches and Collected Works of Turgenev, along with such classics as A Hero of Our Time and Mitya's Love. Feng Chun's work is marked by systematic organization and complete translation; the renderings strive to stay close to the rhythm and emotional tone of the originals, offering Chinese readers a relatively comprehensive entry into nineteenth-century Russian literature and exerting a lasting influence on the translation and popularization of foreign literature.
