About the author

Feng Xuegong, MD, is a chief physician and professor who serves as director of the Department of Encephalopathy at the Beijing Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine and as a doctoral supervisor at Beijing University of Chinese Medicine. Judging from the three works held in the collection, his writing and editorial work center on classical formula (jingfang) scholarship in Chinese medicine: he edited large-print recitation editions of the Shanghan Zabing Lun (including a second edition and a revised edition) and served as chief editor of Hu Xishu's Classical Formula Medicine (Volume 1). These projects reflect a concern with making canonical texts accessible for recitation and with organizing clinical experience in classical formula practice. The recitation editions present the original text in a format suited to repeated reading by students and practitioners, while the Hu Xishu volume focuses on the academic and clinical approach associated with that tradition. All of his listed works fall under medicine and address Chinese medicine practitioners and classical formula enthusiasts. Beyond the above titles and positions, public information on his career, academic awards and full bibliography is limited.
