About the author

Stuart, Gordon is a pen name used by the American author Harry Lincoln Sayler (1863–1913). A newspaperman turned writer, Sayler became a bestselling author; under this pen name he wrote the "Boy Scouts of the Air" series of juvenile aviation adventure novels, including the titles held here: Boy Scouts of the Air on Lost Island, Hal Kenyon Disappears, and The Boy Scouts of the Air in Indian Land. He also wrote other series, such as the "Boy Aviators" books. His work centers on aircraft, exploration, and teamwork, with fast-paced plots aimed at young readers. Public information about his life is limited, and existing accounts rest mainly on the series published under his pen name and on their thematic features.
