About the author

Andy Adams is a collective pseudonym created by the American publisher Grosset & Dunlap for the Biff Brewster Mystery Adventure series of juvenile adventure novels. In the 1960s the series was written by three authors: Walter B. Gibson, Edward Pastore, and Peter Harkins. The three titles listed here—Hawaiian Sea Hunt Mystery, Brazilian Gold Mine Mystery, and Mystery of the Chinese Ring—all belong to this series, and their titles suggest that the young hero is often placed in distant lands and involved in treasure hunts, puzzles, and adventure. Because the name is not a real individual, public information about birth and death dates, education, and personal experience is limited and should not be invented. As for the works themselves, the series appeals to young readers with fast-paced, tightly plotted detective adventure, and it reflects a slice of mid-twentieth-century American juvenile adventure publishing.
